Job summary

The Indiana Biosciences Research Institute (IBRI) invites motivated undergraduates and graduates in Indiana to apply for a Summer Internship Program running May 17, 2027 – August 6, 2027. Interns gain hands‑on experience by collaborating with scientists on active projects and contribute to real-world scientific advancement.

Stipend for the full program is $9,650, disbursed bi‑weekly. Schedule is 35 hours per week; applications close November 30, 2026 (priority by Oct 15, 2026).

Qualifications

• Enrolled in or recently graduated from an Indiana university undergraduate or graduate program.
• Degree in biology or chemistry.
• Familiarity with Excel, R, Python or related tools preferred.
• Strong interest in scientific research and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Assist with lab experiments, sample preparation, and data collection.
• Review scientific literature and summarize key findings.
• Record results clearly using lab notebooks and digital tools.
• Help analyze data and prepare charts, figures, or short summaries.
• Join team meetings, trainings, and scientific discussions.
• Follow lab safety, biosafety, and ethical research practices.
