A camp is seeking a qualified Lifeguard responsible for maintaining safety at the waterfront and caring for campers. Candidates must have current Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid certifications, along with strong swimming skills. This role involves physical demands and requires excellent communication skills.
The Lifeguard Camp Atwater is responsible for the direct care and safety of children at the camp waterfront area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsibilities include but may not be limited to the following:
Responsible for the overall condition of the entire waterfront area. This includes the care and repair of safety equipment, small craft, sand & water toys, and swim aides as well as ensuring the entire area is clean and free from debris.
Maintain individual swim records on the progress of each camper as well as accurate records and statistical information that may be required by immediate supervisor. Complete and submit written reports as assigned.
Recognize and protect children from any hazards that are a threat to their physical safety and their emotional well-being.
Be aware of all state requirements and emergency procedures and notify the Waterfront Director if you notice a violation or have concerns.
Participate in ongoing safety and rescue training that will increase your aquatic skills and competence.
Regularly attend scheduled staff meetings.
