Offering positions for up to 11 weeks from the end of May until mid-August, Birons welcomes over 1000 children each summer in various camp programs. This is a seasonal part-time or full-time position, with additional opportunities during spring break and winter holidays.
Anyone hired under 18 will be classified as a Junior Camp Counselor and will not lead their own group independently.
Responsibilities include: leading a group of 8-10 campers, collaborating with your team to bring camp themes and activities to life, daily set-up and clean-up, and other assigned duties. You will make a difference in kids' lives and serve as a positive role model, demonstrating professionalism and enthusiasm.
Remember, you're a superhero for the campers, learning from your words, habits, and deeds. You'll play games, be silly, lead crafts, and go on field trips, but your core role is building relationships, establishing trust, and guiding kids' emotional, physical, and social growth. You are expected to uphold high standards for yourself and the children.
You will engage with your group using a planned curriculum, interact actively rather than supervise passively, and strive daily to create positive, memorable experiences for the kids.
