Position Type: Seasonal Full-Time (6/2/25 - 8/8/25)

About this opportunity:

Looking for a fun and rewarding job this Summer? The Salvation Army Red Shield Youth Center is currently looking for camp counselors for this year. This position is responsible for planning, implementing, supervising members and evaluating activities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Builds and maintains a professional relationship with all Club members and their families to help advance the mission of The Salvation Army.
  • Chaperone Field Trips and o versee special programs.
  • Participate in the implementation of other unit activities as necessary
  • In absence of the Program Coordinator, may provide supervision oversight to other Youth Development Professionals to ensure continuity of program services at unit/branch locations

What we are looking for in you:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. and
  • Previous work in related field with Children and Youth preferred

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to deal comfortably with stressful situations and follow emergency procedures.

Ability to multi-task, ability to follow instructions and complete tasks in a safe and effective manners.

Ability to interact with co-workers and the public in a positive, professional manner.

Ability to meet attendance requirements.

Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively.

Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.

Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines and time constraints.

Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing and walking on a frequent change basis.

Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor recreational environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt and the like.
