Job Description
As a Summer Camp Counselor (or Team Leader), you’ll be the core presence for each camper, guiding them through a safe, impactful, and engaging summer experience. You will stay with the same group all week, creating a supportive environment that prioritizes safety and emotional well-being. This seasonal role involves working full-time, Monday through Friday.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Lead and Supervise Campers:
    Supervise groups of 15+ campers, foster group connection, ensure a positive environment, manage behavior, and support instructors with curriculum and materials.
  2. Engage In All Camp Activities:
    Plan and run daily activities, lead camp ceremonies, and participate in songs and skits to create joyful experiences.
  3. Provide Exceptional Customer Service:
    Greet families warmly, follow check-in/out procedures, and communicate camper progress to families.
  4. Build Skills with Training and Support:
    Complete online training, attend pre-camp days, and develop professionally through feedback and hands-on learning.

Compensation
Starting at $15.98/hour for first-year staff, with increases based on tenure. Returning staff earn higher rates.

Qualifications

  • Experience supervising groups of children
  • 1+ year experience in camp, childcare, or related fields
  • Ability to complete background checks and training before camp
  • Availability for 8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday, for at least 4 weeks
  • Must be at least 18 years old by May 12, 2025

Schedule
Camp operates Monday–Friday, with shifts starting as early as 7:00 a.m. and ending as late as 6:30 p.m. Pre-camp training and set-up days are required.
