Position Summary

The major responsibility of the Camp Counselor is to assist in the daily delivery of a wide variety of developmentally appropriate programs and activities. Participate in all activities and ensure that campers participate as well.

• Assist in the daily delivery of a wide variety of developmentally appropriate programs and activities.
• Assist in the supervision and discipline of campers participating in programs and services within the designated program areas as well as throughout the camp/clubhouse as deemed appropriate.
• Participate in collaborative programs, events, and field trips with staff from other clubhouse groups, staff from other BGCB clubhouses, and community organizations as appropriate.
• Participate in evaluation efforts throughout each program year, including the annual member survey, to assess impact.
• Secure and maintain materials, equipment, and other resources belonging to the camp/program area(s). Maintain a safe and clean camp/program area.
• Travel between sites and to activities as needed.
• Perform other related duties as specified by Directors.

Position Requirements

• High School degree or GED preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Experience working with children/youth preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification required or obtainable.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work evening and weekend shifts, with extended hours as needed.
