Job summary

Green Chimneys is seeking Seasonal Adventure Specialists for our camp program in the United States. You will work with groups of 14-16 campers to facilitate engaging and safe outdoor experiences, including belaying, climbing, boating, swimming and team-building exercises.

Applicants must be 18+, with prior outdoor activity experience and the ability to learn from staff from diverse backgrounds. The role runs for 9 weeks of activities plus 3 weeks of training, starting June 7th.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Experience with belaying, climbing, team building, boating and swimming.
• Desire to work with children outdoors, ages 4-14 during activities.
• Available for 9 weeks of activity planning and 3 weeks of training.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate a safe and successful activity period for groups of campers.

• Lead adventure activities and supervise campers throughout the day.

Job description

Status: Temporary/Seasonal (time/period specific)

Come join our camp staff specializing in Adventure.

Work with groups of 14-16 campers tofacilitate a safe and successful experience during the activity period.Adventure Specialists need to have some experience with belaying, climbing,team building, boating and swimming. Requires 9 weeksof activity planning for children ages 4-14 and three weeks of training (lowand high ropes and lifeguard). Positions are available at both Hillside andClearpool locations. You must be available starting June 7th.

Must be at least 18 years of age. Energy and enthusiasmfor long days, a desire to work with children outdoors, prior experienceworking with children, teens, or adults in similar setting, outdoor livingskills and/or environmental background, ability to accept guidance andsupervision, and a willingness to work with and learn from people fromdifferent cultures and backgrounds are all essential skills for this position.

Salary: Starting rate of $75 -$85 per day

*International applicants’ salary is based on sponsoringagencies pocket money agreement and/or experience. Stipend range between $1200- $2700 for the summer season. Room and board is also provided to internationalstaff for the duration of the season.
