Job summary

HDR is seeking a Water Engineering Intern to assist with planning, design, and analysis of water and wastewater infrastructure projects in the Tampa area. You will work with engineers and field teams to develop sustainable solutions and gain exposure to leading engineering practices.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program, with attention to detail, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and a passion for water sustainability.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Interest in water, sustainability and community impact.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers and project teams with planning, design, and analysis for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Support development of sustainable water treatment, distribution, collection and reuse systems.
• Participate in field visits, site inspections and project meetings.
• Analyze data, prepare calculations and assist in drafting technical reports and design documents.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex infrastructure challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
• Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
• Passion for water, sustainability, environmental stewardship, and community impact.
