Job summary

Ally Financial is offering a paid 11‑week internship designed to move students from education to experience within Consumer Banking. You’ll work on project‑based tasks, attend orientation and learning sessions, and network with teams across the company.

Successful interns may be offered a full‑time role or another internship based on graduation timing. The program provides hands‑on experience, mentorship, and exposure to leadership, with compensation including hourly pay and potential sign‑on

Work Schedule

Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. The Work Itself

• Have hands on experience and project-based work
• Attend Orientation, Executive Speaking Series, and learning sessions as an Intern cohort

• Lead an end of assignment presentation

The Details

• Internship Program Timing: May 21 – July 31, 2027 (tentative)
• 40 hours each week with a mix of in-office and remote working days
• Project-based work
• Market competitive hourly compensation and a sign-on bonus, as well as financial housing assistance for those who qualify
• Successful interns will have the opportunity to return to Ally in an Early Talent Program or full-time role, or to a second internship, depending upon graduation timing.

Consumer Banking

Consumer Banking is all about the customer. As a summer intern within the Customer Care & Operations organization at Ally, you will play a key role in one of the bank’s core values: building trust with our customers.

Intern Key Experiences

• Support the Deposit and Invest Customer Care leadership team by analyzing operational performance, identifying process improvement opportunities, and assisting with initiatives that improve the customer and employee experience. Real‑world experience working on a pivotal initiative with measurable business value.
• Exposure to operations, digital strategy, and customer experience compose in a leading digital bank with opportunities to develop problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder leadership skills.

Required Qualifications

• Rising Junior or Senior (during the time of internship) in a full‑time undergraduate program.
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Available for the full duration of the internship program.

• A passion for the financial services and technology industry is strongly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Communication & Storytelling– Intern will develop professional skills in stakeholder communication, business case development, and presentation to leadership.
• Multi‑tasking & Prioritization – Intern will learn how to identify, assess, and propose pivotal initiatives sought at improving digital adoption and reducing friction in the customer journey.
• Critical thinking – Intern will learn more about the end‑to‑end experience for Ally’s customers and how Deposits and Invest Servicing plays a part in the overall journey.

Base Pay Range

$25.00 - $29.00

An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer.

Incentive Compensation

This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
