Job summary

American Family Insurance invites rising juniors and seniors to join the Summer 2027 Intern - Product Pricing and Data Science Engineering. You will support the development, pricing, and underwriting of insurance products, and work on data pipelines, cloud platforms and AI-enabled applications, gaining hands-on experience with Python, BigQuery and Airflow.

The 10- to 14-week internship starts mid to late May and ends in August.

Qualifications

• Must be a current student at an accredited 4-year college or university.
• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Data Science or Computer Science.
• Graduating August 2027 or later; strongly prefer August 2028 or later.

Summer 2027 Intern - Product Pricing and Data Science Engineering

As the Product Pricing and Data Science Intern, you will help support the development, pricing, and underwriting of our insurance products. You will work on data engineering projects, analytics pipelines, cloud-based data platforms, and applications that leverage embedded agentic AI capabilities, while gaining hands-on experience with technologies such as Python, BigQuery, and Airflow.

An internship with American Family Insurance is a great opportunity to build your skillset and explore your career interests. Our summer student internship is a 10 to 14 week program that starts in mid to late May and ends in August.

During your internship, you'll work on impactful projects that make a difference at our company, with our customers, and in our communities. You'll also gain exposure to different areas of our business and have numerous opportunities for networking and coaching.

Interns may be eligible for a one‑time hiring bonus to assist with housing costs depending upon proximity to an AmFam office location.

Compensation Minimum: $25.00

Compensation Maximum: $39.00

Additional Information

• To ensure a strong start, all employees participate in our New Employee Orientation during their first week. This experience is held in person at our Madison, WI Headquarters or one of our AmFam core locations to help you connect with our mission, meet key team members and build relationships that support your growth. At times, sessions may be delivered virtually based on scheduling and availability.
