Job summary

Walmart is offering a 11-week Summer Internship in Automation Engineering within Supply Chain Automation. The program places you at Walmart Home Offices across locations in the U.S., including Bentonville, AR, with a focus on designing, implementing, and improving automated solutions.

You will work with cross-functional teams, conduct industry research, and develop business cases while gaining leadership exposure and hands-on experience in end-to-end supply chain projects.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program.
• Expected graduation date between December 2027—August 2028.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and improve engineered solutions.
• Use an innovative and analytical mindset to transform processes.
• Perform industry research to identify new technology and industry partners.
• Identify short-term and long-term opportunities within Walmart’s End-to-End (E2E) Supply Chain.
• Work with cross-functional teams, utilizing your engineering and project management skills to identify opportunities, propose solutions, design systems and demonstrate financial impact.
• Manage vendor relationships and technology portfolios throughout the full product lifecycle including research & development, proof-of-concept testing, full-scale deployment, maintenance and KPI tracking.

• Grocery: The Grocery engineering team supports the growing needs of the grocery distribution center network by deploying innovative automated solutions to increase capacity, improve associate friendliness, and help grocery distribution centers to supply Walmart Stores and Sam’s Clubs with the quality groceries our customers expect.
• Fulfillment: The Fulfillment team works with robotics and automated technology to develop innovative solutions to better serve our customers. Imagine your Walmart order being fulfilled 100% by robots - you can be the one to make that happen by enabling the technology and tech products behind it.

As an Automation Engineer Intern in SCA, you will…
