Job summary

HDR Building Engineering Services Group offers an internship program for students pursuing degrees in Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, or Industrial Engineering in Orlando. You will join multidisciplinary teams on real building projects and gain practical experience through mentorship, site visits, and design reviews.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program with strong communication skills and a passion for innovative, sustainable design.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with a 3.0+ GPA.
• Experience with design software (Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, SketchUp) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support multidisciplinary project teams in the planning, design, and delivery of building projects.
• Assist with the preparation of drawings, models, renderings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Collaborate with architects, mechanical, electrical, structural, plumbing, and other design professionals.
• Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and site visits.
• Conduct research on building systems, codes, sustainability initiatives, and emerging technologies.
• Utilize industry-standard software and digital tools to support project development.
