Job summary

Sugarloaf Mountain Corporation seeks friendly Ticket Checkers for the coming winter season in Maine. This outdoor role involves greeting guests, assisting at lift gates, and resolving RFID/ticket issues with a customer-first attitude.

Starting wages are $18–$19 per hour, with full-time and part-time shifts available. Candidates should be 18+, have a HS diploma, and be able to work weekends/holidays in a busy mountain environment.

Qualifications

• Comfortable using technology and troubleshooting RFID/ticketing issues.
• Dependable, flexible, and able to work at different lift gates.
• Weekend and holiday availability required.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Monitor RFID ticketing system while greeting guests and providing friendly service.
• Troubleshoot ticket, pass, and RFID issues and escalate unresolved problems to supervisors.
• Become familiar with Sugarloaf’s trails, facilities, events, and mountain layout to confidently answer guest questions.
• Develop knowledge of Sugarloaf policies, ticket products, and guest information.
• Provide courteous, professional assistance and maintain a positive guest presence in a busy environment.
• Work closely with other resort departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.

Overview

Do you enjoy working outside, meeting people, and being part of the energy of a busy ski resort? Sugarloaf is looking for friendly, dependable team members who love interacting with guests, enjoy the mountain environment, and are comfortable working outdoors throughout the winter season - whatever the weather may bring.

Sugarloaf Ticket Checkers help set the tone for a great day on the mountain, welcoming guests as they pass through the lift gates and begin their day on the slopes.

This is an outdoor position, with full shifts spent at lift areas. It’s a great fit for someone who enjoys being part of the mountain experience, connecting with guests, and spending their workday outside.

We are currently looking for both full time and part time shifts for this role for the coming winter season. Starting wages are expected to be $18-19 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the RFID ticketing system while greeting guests and providing friendly, welcoming service.
• Troubleshoot ticket, pass, and RFID issues, resolving problems whenever possible and communicating unresolved issues to supervisors.
• Become familiar with Sugarloaf’s trails, facilities, events, and mountain layout to confidently answer questions and assist guests.
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of Sugarloaf’s policies, ticket and pass products, and other relevant guest information.
• Provide courteous, professional assistance and maintain a positive, approachable presence in a busy guest environment.
• Work closely with other resort departments to help provide a seamless guest experience.

Qualifications

• be comfortable using technology and troubleshooting basic ticketing and RFID issues.
• be dependable, flexible, and comfortable working at different lift gates as needed
• be available to work weekends and holidays throughout the winter season.
• be at least 18 years old and have a high school degree or degree equivalent
