Job summary

United States Sugar Corporation is seeking a RAW MILL LABORATORY technician in the Sugar Manufacturing division to operate on a rotating shift with overtime and recall requirements. The role involves taking cane and/or trash samples, preparing them for testing, operating weighing scales, logging results, and maintaining a sterile laboratory area.

The candidate must meet health and safety standards, pass required training, and comply with CGMP/CGLP practices, with duties extending to maintenance

Qualifications

• Must pass company-designated tests measuring basic skills and aptitudes.
• Must be 18 years or older with a clean disciplinary history.
• Must be physically able to perform all essential functions and distinguish colors.
• Must have basic computer skills and be able to enter information on spreadsheets.
• Must read, write and speak English to comprehend instructions and ensure safety.
• New hires must pass a pre-employment drug test and background screening.

Responsibilities

• Abide by all policies and regulations relating to Health, Safety, and Operations.
• Attend training sessions, safety classes, and pre-shift meetings.
• Abide by CGMP and CGLP guidelines at all times.
• Collect samples from all plant areas and protect sample integrity.
• Perform cane trash tests and document results promptly.
• Communicate results and equipment issues to Lab Supervisors and staff.
• Maintain a sterile working environment and assist with housekeeping.
