Job summary

ESP Associates, Inc. in Greensboro, NC is seeking an experienced SUE Technician to join our team. You will perform SUE field operations, including utility designation, records research, utility mapping, and field documentation in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary firm.

This role requires a minimum of 2+ years in utility locating, familiarity with Trimble equipment, GPS and robotic total stations, and the ability to travel. Outdoor work and data management are essential components of the position.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of field experience in utility locating required.
• Experience interpreting utility records, designating utilities, and field sketching.
• Knowledge of conventional, robotic, and GPS surveying functions.
• Experience with Trimble data collection, GPS receivers, and robotic total stations.
• Land surveying experience and construction experience preferred.
• SUE skills and utility mapping experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with Excel and Trimble Data Transfer is a plus.
• Ability to travel out of town; meal per diem and lodging provided.

As a SUE Technician, you will be responsible for performing SUE field operations, including utility designating, records research, utility mapping, and field documentation. This is an opportunity for an experienced utility locator to further their career within a dynamic and growing Engineering, Surveying and Planning firm.

Responsibilities:

• Comprehensive knowledge of conventional, robotic, and GPS surveying functions, including static, fast static, RTK, and VRS.
• Experience with Trimble data collection, GPS receivers, and robotic total stations required.
• Land surveying experience preferred.
• Construction experience preferred.
• Various SUE skills and utility mapping experience a plus.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, navigation programs, and Trimble Data Transfer a plus.
• Position includes out-of-town travel; meal per diem and lodging are provided.
• This position is subject to outdoor environmental conditions.
• Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.
