Job summary

ESP Associates, Inc. in North Charleston, SC seeks a SUE Technician to advance utility designation work within a growing engineering firm. You will designate utilities, collect field data, photos, and sketches, and support field operations.

The role requires 1–3 years of field experience, knowledge of GPR and locating equipment, and willingness to travel. DOT/public utility experience is a plus; a clean MVR and background check are required.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years field experience in utility designating.
• Previous experience designating utilities and researching records.
• Working knowledge of GPR, locating equipment, and vacuum excavation is a plus.
• Strong management and organizational skills in field operations.
• Experience with DOT, municipal, and/or public utility projects is a plus.
• Prepare field sketches, photos, daily checklists and timesheets; some travel.
• Surveying/drafting experience is a plus but not required.
• Must pass drug screen, background check, and have satisfactory MVR.

ESP Associates, Inc., is currently seeking a SUE Technician to join our team in North Charleston, SC. This is an opportunity for a SUE professional to further their career working within a dynamic and growing Engineering, Surveying and Planning firm.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience designating utilities and performing records research required, preferably in an engineering design environment.
• 1-3 years field experience in utility designating.
• Working knowledge of Ground Penetrating Radar, Electromagnetic pipe & cable locating equipment, and vacuum excavation a plus.
• Strong management and organizational skills while performing field operations.
• Experience with DOT, municipal, and/or public utility projects a plus.
• Skills involved in the preparation/organization of field sketches & digital photographs, completion of daily checklists & timesheets, and vehicle navigation are required.
• Surveying and/or drafting experience a plus, but not required.
• Position will involve some travel out of town.
• Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.
