Job summary

Terracon in California seeks a mid-level Subsurface Utility Engineering Project Manager to lead SUE exploration projects, coordinate surveys and geophysical teams, and manage client communications. You will review utility records, oversee data collection, and ensure adherence to ASCE 38-22 standards.

The role requires 4+ years in SUE with a geophysics or engineering background, a valid driver's license, and willingness to travel within the region. PE/PGp/PLS on track in CA is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in geophysics, engineering, surveying or related field.
• Minimum 4 years experience with at least 2 years in the SUE field.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
• Willingness to travel.
• Must have one of the following licenses in CA: PE, PGp, or PLS (on track)

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and participate in pre-task planning.
• Maintain quality standards on all projects.
• Oversee QLD through QLA activities on medium sized projects with varied complexity.
• Demonstrate knowledge of SUE processes, procedures, and standards.
• Ensure project delivery and compliance with ASCE 38-22.
• Collaborate with senior staff on large, complex projects.
• Perform site visits, field observations and data collection.
• Direct and supervise field staff in testing and data collection.
• Develop written proposals to clients and perform QC review of proposals.
• Evaluate geophysical data and compile written reports.
• Review final SUE drawings and reports.
• Participate in meetings with clients regarding projects/tasks.
• Oversee work of lower level Geophysicists and Technicians.
