Job summary

T2 Utility Engineers in Palatine, IL is seeking a Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Field Technician II to join our field team. You'll operate locating and designating equipment, gain on-the-job training, and contribute to data collection and reporting.

This role requires physical ability, willingness to travel up to 50% (by vehicle or air), valid driver's license, and the ability to work outdoors in all climates.

Qualifications

• Must read and interpret utility company prints and design plans.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical (U.S. only) and obtain DOT medical card (U.S. only).
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate heavy tools outdoors.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% and work nights/weekends when required.
• Good oral and written communication; OSHA certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate SUE locating/designating equipment (locators, GPR, vacuum excavation).
• Complete detailed daily reports and field sketches.
• Assist survey and data collection as part of the crew.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and safety setup.
• Drive company vehicle to job sites (CDL not required).
