Job summary

OhioGuidestone is hiring a Residential Specialist for our facility in Ohio. The role supports clients in intensive treatment, supervises activities, and provides crisis intervention.

You will log information for counselors and work under the SUD Residential Manager to ensure high-quality care. The position requires evening coverage (3pm–11pm with rotating weekends) or PRN night shift, with duties including safety checks, record-keeping, and group activities in a compassionate, client-centered

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in a relevant field required.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
• Must obtain CDCA within 6 months of hire.
• Ohio CDCA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete and current clinical records for all persons served.
• Provide education to persons served, families, and staff on substance use treatment, wellness, and health.
• Monitor mental illness or substance use symptoms and communicate changes to the treatment team.
• Facilitate group activities focused on mental health or substance use needs.
• Provide direct supervision to ensure safety and basic needs.
• Assist clients with behavior management and positive interventions.
• Ensure safety by performing regular safety checks of clothing and belongings.
• Achieve productivity goals as assigned.
• Follow ethics, agency policies, and HIPAA requirements.
• Organize work for maximum efficiency and use IT systems per policy.
• Perform other duties as deemed by supervisor.
