Job summary

Rice County is seeking a COMPASS program coordinator to provide community-based care for individuals with substance use disorder and connect them to local resources. The role supports ongoing recovery efforts, coordinates with law enforcement and community partners, and administers funding to remove financial barriers to recovery.

The position works closely with the Rice County Behavioral Health Unit, is grant-funded through June 30, 2028, and requires monitoring participant progress, submitting

Qualifications

• Certification or license in chemical health, mental health, social services, or a related field.
• Must successfully pass a fingerprint-based criminal history check and maintain annual certification through the BCA.
• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field preferred; licensure in addiction fields is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Receive and respond to referrals from law enforcement and partner agencies.
• Provide ongoing recovery support and connect individuals to local resources.
• Coordinate and conduct community-based visits in multiple locations; virtual support when needed.
• Assist with required paperwork and connect to social services.
• Provide case management and coordinate related services.
• Follow up with referred individuals within 48 hours.
• Maintain case notes and data tracking.
• Build relationships with community organizations and advocate for system-level changes.
