Job summary

Hygea Healthcare is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to support clients in a 12-hour shift program, ensuring safety, comfort, and a therapeutic environment. You will collaborate with clinical and nursing staff to meet client needs and uphold high standards of care.

Key duties include maintaining cleanliness, observing drug testing, and facilitating house meetings while supporting ongoing professional development and crisis intervention as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, required or willingness to obtain GED.
• Current certification in First Aid/CPR preferred.
• Associates degree in mental health or addiction treatment setting preferred.
• Training in motivational interviewing a plus.
• Trauma-Informed Care training a plus.
• Recovery coach training a plus.
• Basic computer and keyboarding skills (Word/Excel).
• Knowledge of community resources.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to clients in a manner that promotes safety, comfort, and the therapeutic environment.
• Maintains facility cleanliness through sanitizing and deep cleaning of client areas.
• Observes urine drug testing and breathalyzer screening.
• Facilitates house meetings in the absence of the Program Manager.
• Maintains confidentiality of client records.
• Adheres to institutional policies and safety standards.
• Pursues ongoing professional development and may liaise with clients and external facilities.
