The position is part-time (max 19.5 hrs/week), with a focus on flexible hours and campus-based support. Requires a Bachelor’s degree and related experience; multilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and one year’s working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements; or any equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• Preferred: one year of experience with First Year Experience programs in a community college environment.
• Preferred: experience with career interest inventory testing procedures and outcomes.
• Multilingual abilities beyond English are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coach prospective and FTIC students through the enrollment process and provide educational guidance.
• Educate students on steps to complete enrollment and navigate campus resources.
• Coordinate with Registrar and Financial Aid to assist entering students.
• Utilize career tools to help students explore career information and interests.
• Assist in career pathway selection by answering questions and providing support.
• Explain academic program steps for certificates or degrees and how to use online systems.

Work Hours: Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 7:00pm and Friday8:00am - 5:00pm; Summer Hours: Monday - Thursday 7:30am - 7:00pm and Closed Friday; Flexibility isrequired, as occasional evening and weekend hours may be necessarybased on department needs

Job Summary

This role is responsible for coaching prospective and First Time InCollege (FTIC) students through the enrollment process by providingguidance related to educational planning, career pathway selection,and access to College resources that support student success.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Essential Performance Requirements*
• Conducts pre-enrollment workshops
• Educates students on the steps necessary to complete theenrollment process
• Works closely with the Registrar and Financial Aid offices toassist students who are entering the College
• Utilizes career and education tools to assist students withcareer information related to students’ interests and aptitudes(e.g., MyPlan, Career Coach)
• Assists students with career pathway selection by answeringquestions, providing information, and providing other support whennecessary
• Educates students on the academic program steps necessary tosuccessfully complete a certificate or degree program, includinghow to utilize and navigate online systems and campus informationand resources
• Provides information regarding student life opportunities,including student activities and organizations on campus as well asother campus resources
• Assists in retention activities of the College by supportingadvising, counseling services, transfer events, career events, andrelated activities
• Coordinates and presents workshops (i.e., financial literacy,study skills, etc.) for all students

Service Excellence

• Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, andfollows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of theworksite
• Completes all required training and professional developmentsessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
• Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of theCollege

Supervision

Works under the supervision of the assigned campus leader

Required Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year’s working experience relatedto the Essential Performance Requirements; or any equivalentcombination of education and work-related experience

• At least one (1) year’s working experience with career interestinventory testing procedures and outcomes
