Job summary

Occidental Petroleum Corporation is seeking a Subsurface Well Data Integration Specialist in Houston. You will serve as a SME, integrating subsurface well master data, supporting cloud-native data platforms, and ensuring alignment with OSDU and AWS migration initiatives.

You will drive adoption of OSDU data structures, lead integration with legacy systems, and enforce data modeling and IAM best practices while coordinating with global Data Management teams on source-level fixes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Geoscience, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 10+ years of oil and gas geoscience and engineering data experience.
• 10+ years loading and managing well data in subsurface software.
• Advanced knowledge of well data planning, logging, and completion operations.
• Expertise in master data management concepts for technical data.
• Experience defining ETL/DQM rules for InnerLogix toolkits.

Responsibilities

• Translate business and subsurface requirements into scalable, cloud-optimized data architectures.
• Drive adoption of OSDU data structures across domains.
• Lead integration of Petrel, OpenWorks with OSOD-compliant platforms.
• Load and validate well data in OpenWorks R5000 and Petrel Studio repositories.
• Design cloud-centered solutions prioritizing OSDU standards and IAM/security practices.
• Monitor data quality and support data modernization initiatives.
