We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst to provide dedicated analytical support to our organization. This role is embedded within operations and plays a key part in transforming raw operational data into actionable insights that drive well delivery performance, cost optimization, and operational efficiency.
This is not a traditional reporting role — we are looking for a strategic data partner who can independently manage analytics initiatives, build executive-level dashboards, and support high-impact operational decisions.
What You’ll Do
Data Analysis & Insights
- Extract, analyze, and interpret complex drilling & completions datasets
- Develop and optimize advanced SQL queries in production environments
- Analyze well performance, timelines, KPIs, and cost metrics
- Translate technical data into clear, actionable business insights
- Build and maintain Power BI (preferred) or Spotfire dashboards
- Design visualizations for both technical and executive audiences
- Ensure dashboard accuracy, performance optimization, and data integrity
Process Automation
- Identify and eliminate manual processes through automation
- Develop reusable SQL templates and data workflows
- Improve reporting efficiency and data pipelines
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with D&C engineers, operations leads, and field teams
- Support ad-hoc analysis requests with accuracy and speed
- Communicate insights clearly to leadership and cross-functional teams
Data Quality & Governance
- Perform validation and quality checks across source systems
- Monitor data freshness and flag anomaliesSupport master data management for wells, pads, and assets
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or BI Analyst
- 2+ years of advanced SQL experience (CTEs, window functions, joins, subqueries, aggregations)
- 2+ years building dashboards in Power BI or Spotfire
- Strong understanding of relational databases and data modeling
- Advanced Excel skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Finance, or related field
- Ability to work hybrid in downtown Denver
Preferred Qualifications
- Upstream oil & gas experience (Drilling & Completions strongly preferred)
- Experience with OpenWells, OXYODS, or similar well data systems
- Knowledge of drilling metrics (spud dates, drill days) and completions metrics (stages, proppant, frac timelines)
- Python or R for analytics and automation
- Experience with Power Platform (Power Automate / Power Apps)
- Familiarity with Azure or AWS cloud environments
