Job summary

Metro Consulting Associates LLC seeks a Subsurface Utility Field Technician to perform utility mark out and geophysical surveying in the field, supporting construction projects with precise locating. The role involves operating GPR and other equipment, documenting findings, and presenting results on CAD maps.

The candidate must have 2+ years in utility locating, GPR experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to travel to project sites.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of field experience in utility locating.
• Must have GPR experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites.
• Must pass drug screening and background check.
• Excellent concentration and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
• Exceptional written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams including technical and non-technical personnel.
• Strong planning, organization, preparation, and execution capabilities.
• Strong problem solving/analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and locating equipment to detect underground utilities, anomalies, and hazards.
• Document the project by sketches, spreadsheets, and written reports.
• Perform utility mark out and geophysical surveying in the field.
• Interpret field data with geophysical software and produce written reports.
• Present findings on CAD maps/plans.
• Maintain strong client relations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Project Manager.
