Job summary

CME Associates is seeking a GPR Technician to join our team in New York. The role focuses on locating and mapping underground utilities to support safe excavation, with tasks performed under supervision of a Licensed Engineer.

The successful candidate will operate GPR systems, interpret data, and prepare detailed maps and reports for project planning. Outdoor work, occasional travel, and adherence to safety protocols are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in utility locating and GPR preferred.
• Bachelor’s or associate degree in geology, civil engineering, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and mark underground utilities using electromagnetic locating equipment.
• Operate GPR systems to detect and map subsurface structures and anomalies; analyze data and generate reports.
• Review data from utility locate and GPR systems to create detailed maps for planning and excavation.
• Conduct field surveys to verify utility locations and assess site conditions.
• Maintain accurate records of utility locations and GPR data with field observations.
• Adhere to safety protocols and report hazards.
• Communicate findings clearly to clients with recommendations.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration of locating and GPR equipment.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to support project needs.
