Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a SUE Technician to perform subsurface utility investigations in the field around Atlanta, GA.

The role involves using GPR and locating equipment to accurately map utilities and generate field data. You will collaborate with project managers and engineers, prepare sketches and reports, and ensure safety and compliance while traveling to different job sites as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years experience in SUE, utility locating, or related field.
• Familiarity with SUE methods: QL-B, QL-C, QLD, and QL-A.
• Ability to read and interpret construction/utility plans.
• Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Locate underground utilities using GPR, locators, and vacuum excavation.
• Identify utilities such as gas, electric, water, and telecom lines.
• Prepare field sketches, utility drawings, and as-built data.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field staff for reporting.
• Ensure safety protocols and standards are followed.
• Assist with reports, deliverables, and field notes.
• Maintain equipment and vehicles in good condition.
