T2 Utility Engineers in Boston, MA is seeking a Senior SUE Field Technician to lead daily field crew activities and ensure comprehensive, accurate utility mapping. The role emphasizes hands-on field work, client communication, and safety leadership on site.

Responsibilities include supervising crews, preparing daily reports, and coordinating with clients and subcontractors. Travel up to 50% may be required; a valid driving record is essential. No CDL required for on-site field duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 2+ years as SUE Field Technician II or equivalent.
• Ability to read utility company prints and design plans.
• Good oral and written communication skills with attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

• Mastery in operation of SUE locating equipment to map utilities within project areas.
• Complete detailed daily reports, forms and field sketches.
• Supervise daily SUE field crew activities and train other crew members.
• Represent T2ue with client, sub-contractors, and third parties during field activities.
• Maintain and operate vehicles, equipment, tools and supplies.
• Facilitate Daily Tailgate Safety Meetings.
• Perform Daily Job Hazard Analysis with crew members.
• Drive commercial motor vehicles; CDL not required.
• Oversee safety setup for traffic signage and equipment inventory.

Using advanced technologies, our team of field technicians, engineers, and surveyors, provide quality data and professional insight to help our clients visualize, plan, and design their projects. SUE Technician III responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Mastery in the operation of SUE utility locating and designating equipment in complex utility infrastructure environments to accurately map all utilities within the project area
• Complete detailed accurate daily reports, forms and field sketches, both electronically as well as draft by hand
• Supervise daily SUE field crew activities and train other crew members
• Represent and communicate on behalf of T2ue with client, sub-contractors, and third parties during field activities
• Effective maintenance, cleaning, and operation of vehicles, equipment, tools and supplies
• Facilitate Daily Tailgate Safety Meetings
• Perform Daily Job Hazard Analysis with crew members
• Drive commercial motor vehicles, however a CDL license is not required
• Direct safety set-up for proper of traffic signage
• Complete monthly equipment inventory for Supervisor reorder

Tech III Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED
• 2+years experience as a SUE Field Technician II
• Ability to read and interpret utility company prints and design plans
• Must have a good oral and written communication skills and attention to detail
• Valid driver's license with good driving record
• Ability to secure client-required identity verification, such as TWIC and SWAC
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical (U.S. only)
• Ability to obtain a DOT medical card for CMV operation (U.S. only)
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical movements necessary to operate heavy tools and equipment
• Ability to work outdoors in all climates
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, by company vehicle or commercial airline, up to 2 week continuous stay.
• OSHA Safety certifications are a plus
