Job summary

T2 Utility Engineers in Round Rock, TX is seeking a senior SUE field technician to lead daily field crew operations and ensure accurate utility mapping across projects. You will guide field teams, supervise activities, and communicate with clients and third parties on site.

The role requires strong field experience with SUE utility locating, the ability to train crew members, and to travel up to 50%. A valid driver's license and physical/dot requirements apply. Competitive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2+ years experience as a SUE Field Technician II.
• Ability to read utility company prints and design plans.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical (U.S. only) and obtain a DOT medical card.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical movements necessary to operate heavy tools and equipment.
• OSHA Safety certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Mastery in the operation of SUE utility locating and designating equipment in complex utility infrastructure environments to accurately map all utilities within the project area.
• Complete detailed accurate daily reports, forms and field sketches, both electronically as well as draft by hand.
• Supervise daily SUE field crew activities and train other crew members.
• Represent and communicate on behalf of T2ue with client, sub-contractors, and third parties during field activities.
• Effective maintenance, cleaning, and operation of vehicles, equipment, tools and supplies.
• Facilitate Daily Tailgate Safety Meetings.
• Perform Daily Job Hazard Analysis with crew members.
• Drive commercial motor vehicles, however a CDL license is not required.
• Direct safety set-up for proper of traffic signage.
• Complete monthly equipment inventory for Supervisor reorder.

SUE Technician III responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Tech III Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED
• 2+ years experience as a SUE Field Technician II
• Ability to read and interpret utility company prints and design plans
• Must have a good oral and written communication skills and attention to detail
• Valid driver's license with good driving record
• Ability to secure client-required identity verification, such as TWIC and SWAC
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical (U.S. only)
• Ability to obtain a DOT medical card for CMV operation (U.S. only)
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical movements necessary to operate heavy tools and equipment
• Ability to work outdoors in all climates
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, by company vehicle or commercial airline, up to2 week continuous stay.
• OSHA Safety certifications are a plus
