Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM seeks a Post-Master's Student to support experimental research on subsurface reaction and contaminant transport. You will conduct laboratory experiments and prepare samples, working with a multidisciplinary team of geochemists, analytical chemists, and computational scientists.

You will use ICP-MS, ICP-OES, XRF, and XRD to monitor changes in aqueous and solid phases, analyze data, and document results.

Qualifications

• Master's degree completed within the last 3 years in a relevant field.
• Experience conducting laboratory experiments and following procedures.
• Ability to analyze, interpret, and clearly document scientific data.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Prepare experiments and samples for laboratory work.
• Conduct experiments to study reaction and contaminant transport in subsurface environments.
• Monitor changes in aqueous and solid phases using ICP-MS, ICP-OES, XRF, and XRD.
• Analyze data and document results for multidisciplinary teams.
