Qualification: A minimum of 45 college hours are required in order to substitute as a teacher; otherwise, you will only be eligible to substitute as a classroom paraprofessional.
Fingerprinting is required for everyone before employment begins. There is a fingerprinting fee of $47–$50 payable by the applicant.
A substitute teacher is a person assigned to work in the absence of a regular teacher to aid students in understanding a subject matter, as well as to provide skills required for programmed lessons and purposeful training for the classroom he/she is assigned.
