Qualifications

• Must have a degree and preferably a teaching certificate in a specific content area.

• Previous experience working with children is preferred.
• Demonstrated classroom management skills.
• Ability to follow lesson plans accurately.
• Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.

• Be available during school hours 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.
• Bilingual Mandarin/Spanish highly desirable.

STATEMENT OF JOB:

The primary role of the Substitute Teacher is to assume responsibility for a classroom and perform all the tasks of the absent teacher. The exact teaching assignment is based on both the needs of the department and the particular experience and skill set of the substitute teacher. As such, flexibility is a must!

JOB DUTIES:

• Implement the lesson plan of the absent teacher
• Take attendance according to the School policy
• Maintain classroom control and discipline
• Ensure students adhere to school rules
• Foster a safe and nurturing learning environment
• Confer with students and colleagues as required
• Perform other duties as assigned
