Fremont Economic Development Corporation is looking for a qualified substitute teacher to temporarily teach at one of the BVSD schools in Vista, California. Responsibilities include instructing students based on lesson plans and possibly preparing lessons. A Bachelor's degree, Colorado teaching certification, and effective communication skills are required. Compensation includes $150 per full day or $75 per half day. Prepare for moderate to loud working environments that demand both indoor and outdoor activities.

Under the direct supervision of the building Principal, to temporily substitute as a teacher in one of the four BVSD schools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Teach or instruct according to the lesson plans prepared by the regular teacher.
• Long-term substitutes may prepare lesson plans and instruct.
• Provide other services and instruction, as needed, as a regular teacher would provide.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor degree preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Current Colorado Department of Education Substitute Teaching Certificate
• Current Colorado Teaching License

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to correspond with students, parents and administration.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

• Ability to maintain effective relationships with students, parents, peers and administration.
• Skilled in oral and written communication.
• Ability to perform duties with awareness of District requirements and Board of Education policies.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to stand and talk or hear and sometimes walk and sit. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push and/or lift up to 40 pounds such as a child. Recess duty frequently required so should be prepared to be outside with students.
