Job summary

Montrose Classical Academy seeks a Substitute Teacher to provide reliable, engaging instruction in multiple content areas including reading, writing, and math. This part-time position runs Monday through Friday, 7:30 am–3:30 pm, with up to five days per week, and reports to the Principal.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, strong classroom management, excellent communication, and the ability to differentiate instruction for a diverse student body, with Colorado licensure

Job Title: Substitute Teacher

Location: Montrose Classical Academy

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Principal

Work Hours/Days: Part Time; Up to five (5) days per week; M-F; 7:30 am-3:30 pm

Pay Range: $150/day $18.75/hour (8 hours/day)

Qualifications:

Must upload a copy of your current unofficial transcripts or high school diploma, three reference names and email addresses and a copy of your teaching license or substitute authorization for the Colorado Department of Education if applicable.

Preferred:

• Valid Colorado Teaching License or be eligible for Colorado Teaching License OR
• Colorado Substitute Authorization (Please see Colorado Department of Education's website for requirements)
  • Must be eligible for a 1-year substitute authorization

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer or standing to teach.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Must be able to traverse the classroom and adjust one's tone and height, by bending or leaning, in order to teach each child.
• Must be able to accompany children to another nearby facility.
