Job Description

As needed, the substitute teacher/assistant will replace the full-time teacher or assistant during both anticipated and unanticipated absences. The substitute teacher manages student learning in accordance with the goals and directives of the school and the division. The substitute teacher will fulfill the day to day responsibilities and expectations of the regular classroom teacher. Positions may be filled at all instructional levels - elementary, middle and high school - as needs arise.

Note: To be eligible to serve as a substitute teacher/assistant, candidates must attend a Substitute Teacher In-Service and fulfill background check and other required paperwork. Substitute assistant salary is $110 daily; substitute teacher salary is $110 to $120 daily depending on whether an applicant holds an active VDOE teaching license.
