Amarillo ISD is seeking a Part-Time Substitute Teacher Clerk to support classroom operations. You will assist with lesson delivery, supervise students, and help maintain a safe, productive learning environment at the district school sites.

The role requires current enrollment with 30+ college credits, strong planning and presentation skills, and the ability to work flexible hours including evenings and summers. Dress professionally and adhere to district policies.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Amarillo College with at least 30 credit hours.

Responsibilities

• Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information.
• Ensure a safe and disciplined environment in the classroom.
• Assist with lesson delivery and supervision during class time.
• Follow school rules and district policies at all times.
• Participate in AISD Substitute Teacher staff development.
• Report student injuries, accidents or discipline issues promptly.
• Support with materials, resources, and classroom setup as needed.
• Dismiss students from the classroom according to schedule.
• Maintain professional demeanor and dress appropriately.

• Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals

Major Responsibilities And Duties

• Maintain and respect confidentiality of student and school personnel information.
• Maintain a discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and positive environment for all students and staff in accordance with school and county policies.
• Ensure the adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students.
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Report to office upon arrival at school; checks mailbox of absent teacher for materials requiring immediate attention; requests clarification of school rules and procedures, if necessary.
• Report all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to the appropriate authority immediately or as soon as is reasonably possible.
• Implement lesson plans while ensuring the integrity of academic time and in a manner which motivates students to learn and participate.
• Dismiss all students from the classroom before leaving the building.
• Collect and place students papers
• Return instructional materials, equipment, and keys to proper place.
• Comply with and support school and division regulations and policies.
• Model non-discriminatory practices in all activities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by building administrator(s) in accordance with school/division policies and practices.
• Participate in AISD Substitute Teacher staff development.
• Ensure compliance with all local policies and state and federal statutes including the Educator Code of Ethics.

Position Type: Part-Time

Salary: $107 Per Day
