Job summary

Hardy County Board of Education seeks Substitute Teachers for the 21st Century Community Learning Centers program across the county. Positions are contract/hourly and tied to the after-school program; start in the 2026-2027 school year.

Salary is $37.50 per hour, funded by the 21st CCLC grant. Eligible applicants must hold WV teaching certification, demonstrate strong literacy and/or math intervention knowledge, and complete the required Hardy County interview process and trainings.

Qualifications

• WV Professional Teaching Certificate required.
• Strong knowledge of elementary and/or middle school curriculum with emphasis on reading and/or math intervention.
• Must complete Hardy County interview process.
• Must complete all county and WVDE trainings.
• Ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Applicants with recent unsatisfactory evaluations are not eligible.
• Applicants with unsatisfactory interview performance are not eligible.
• Applicants with unfavorable references are not eligible.

Employment contingent on student enrollment. Location of program subject to change based upon student enrollment. Position may be cancelled during program dates dependent on student enrollment.
Start Date: 2026-2027 School Year
Salary: $37.50 per hour - paid through 21st CCLC grant funds. Said compensation will be provided only for days/time worked as a substitute within the 21st CCLC After School Program and shall be separate from any other substitute or regular employment compensation.
