Job Description

Substitute Teachers are utilized in every building in the district when regular teaching staff are absent. Sub teachers have the option of choosing what buildings they'd like to work at, and even what days.

Pay and Bonus

Substitute Teachers are paid $130 per day, $65 for half day. If choose to substitute as a paraprofessional, will be paid $16.25 per hour while in that role. A Year End Bonus will be paid in June for sub teachers that worked 15 or more days at the above rates during the school year.

Substitute Teachers who are previous Prairie Central CUSD 8 Teachers will be paid $145 per day, $72.50 per half day. If willing to substitute as a paraprofessional, will be paid $18.13 per hour while in that role. A Year End Bonus will be paid in June for sub teachers that worked 15 or more days at the above rates during the school year.

Long Term Subs covering leaves for teachers will be placed on progressive levels of the CBA payscale for teachers after the 10th consecutive day. Absences will affect payscale.
