Oswego Community Unit School District 308 is seeking enthusiastic substitutes for the district-wide Substitute Teacher Pool for the 2026-2027 school year. Substitutes instruct students using established curriculum and provide consistent coverage across classrooms.

Daily rate is $125 for a full-day assignment (half-day $62.50); incentive bonus after 30 days worked. Illinois licensure requirements apply; a minimum of 10 days worked helps maintain an active Substitute profile with the district.

Description: Substitute Teachers perform functions to instruct students on established curriculum ensuring each individual is provided with the knowledge, proficiencies and experiences necessary to become successful in an ever-changing world. We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who are willing to accept assignments on a regular basis.

Daily Rate of Compensation: $125 per full-day assignment and $62.50 per half-day assignment; eligible for incentive bonus after 30 days worked.

Education, Licensure, Qualifications:

• Illinois State Board of Education licensure requirements for a Substitute Teacher, including one of the following Illinois Professional Educator License (teaching license), Substitute Teaching License, Short-Term Substitute License.

Work Requirements

• In order to maintain an active pool of substitutes, the District requires a minimum of 10 days worked over the course of the school year to maintain an active profile as a substitute employee. Work history will be monitored so we can keep an active and robust list.

Required Training:

• The school district provides workplace training for our different employee groups each year. SD308 uses an Internet-based training tutorial called Global Compliance Network to educate guest employees on a variety of topics. These training experiences are important because we are required by the State of Illinois to provide employees with basic training information about maintaining a safe work environment for both staff and students.
