SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF CLASSIFICATION

Under the direction of the school Principal, this position plans and provides appropriate learning experiences for students. It creates an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of individuals to ensure success for every student. The role includes supervising students in various school settings, communicating and interacting with students and staff, executing instructional plans directed by the classroom teacher, maintaining appropriate records and following required procedures and practices, and monitoring the appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Understanding of the teaching/learning process.
• Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office and school‑based staff, students, parents, and community.
• Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field of education from an accredited college or university preferred.

• Substitute Certified Teacher: $130.00 per day
• Non-Certified Teacher Substitute: $120.00 per day
• Paraprofessional Substitute: $185.00 per day
• Substitute Nurse: $65.00 half day
• Additional rates: $60.00 half day
