Job summary

Summit Christian Academy in the United States seeks a Substitute Teacher to provide a Christ-centered, engaging learning environment when regular teachers are absent. You will implement prepared lessons, maintain classroom order, and model Christian character throughout the day.

You will supervise students from Early Education through Grade 12, adapt to different grades, and collaborate with staff while upholding school policies and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 60 college credit hours required.
• Ability to establish positive relationships with students while maintaining classroom management.

Responsibilities

• Carry out lesson plans and instructional activities provided by the classroom teacher.
• Foster a classroom environment that is safe, orderly, respectful, and conducive to learning.
• Maintain classroom routines, procedures, and behavioral expectations.
• Demonstrate Christ-like love, patience, grace, and respect in interactions with students, parents, faculty, and guests.
• Supervise students throughout the school day, including arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, and other duties.
• Maintain attendance records and communicate concerns or significant events to the administrator and teacher.
• Protect confidentiality of students, families, and school information.
• Follow school policies, emergency procedures, safety protocols, and reporting requirements.
• Utilize school technology and classroom resources appropriately.
• Leave the classroom organized and provide notes for the returning teacher.
• Be flexible and willing to accept assignments across grade levels or subject areas, when qualified.
