Covenant Christian Academy in Colleyville, Texas, is seeking a dedicated Substitute Teacher to support classroom instruction during teacher absences. The role involves implementing lesson plans, fostering a positive classroom environment, and demonstrating Christian character.

The Substitute Teacher supports Covenant Christian Academy’s mission by providing effective classroom supervision and instruction in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. The Substitute Teacher maintains continuity of learning by implementing lesson plans, fostering a positive and orderly classroom environment, and modeling Christian character in all interactions with students, families, and colleagues. This role requires flexibility, professionalism, and a commitment to supporting the spiritual, academic, and relational development of students.
A mature and growing personal faith in Jesus Christ consistent with CCA’s Statement of Faith.
Active participation in a Bible-believing church.
High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
Ability to adapt quickly, follow directions, and maintain professionalism in a variety of classroom environments.
Students demonstrate measurable academic growth and increasing spiritual maturity, evidenced by assessment data, substantive classroom discourse, and mastery of curriculum standards.
Instructional plans consistently align with the curriculum and dual-credit requirements and intentionally integrate biblical truth, critical thinking, and classical pedagogy that engage and challenge all learners.
Assessments are administered consistently, evaluated promptly, and accompanied by clear, actionable feedback that supports student learning and development.
The classroom culture reflects respect, accountability, and grace, as demonstrated through high levels of student engagement, responsible conduct, and relationships grounded in truth and love.
The teacher maintains accurate and organized records, communicates proactively and professionally with families and colleagues, and participates in the CCA community.
