Fort Madison Community School District is seeking a substitute teacher to provide instruction, manage a safe learning environment, and support students' academic and emotional development. You will follow lesson plans, assist the regular teacher, and help maintain a positive atmosphere.
The role requires a valid Iowa teaching license or substitute license, willingness to cover all district levels, and flexibility.
Position Summary
Substitute teacher provides instruction, manages a safe and nurturing environment, and supports the academic and emotional development of students. Responsibilities include following lesson plans and schedules, completing duties assigned by the regular classroom teacher, maintaining a positive learning atmosphere, and ensuring the safety and well‑being of all students. The substitute must demonstrate flexibility, patience, empathy, strong communication skills, and a commitment to encouraging positive student behavior.
$145 per day. Licensed substitute teachers working long‑term assignments of 10 days or more in a single assignment will receive a daily increase.
