- Prepare focused interventions for students’ academic success
- Instruct students in multiple subjects using varied teaching methods, audiovisual aids, and other materials
- Prepare course-of-study outlines according to curriculum guidelines and state or school requirements
- Collaborate with teachers on alternative interventions to motivate students and prevent dropouts
- Assist students in selecting courses of study
- Counsel students regarding adjustment and academic problems
- Collaborate with parents, students, and teachers to improve attendance
- Participate in community groups or functions, faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, truancy court, and teacher training workshops
- Meet with students and parents to discuss student progress and problems
- Participate in student organizations and committees
- Administer tests, evaluate pupil progress, assess student work, and record results
- Maintain attendance records, student files, and transcripts
- Assist with state-mandated student testing
- Maintain files for random, bi-monthly, and year-end audits
- Help maintain a clean, inviting, professional student center
- Perform assigned administrative functions and duties
- Maintain a partial or full summer/winter student load during short-term enrollment periods
- Provide substitute coverage at the Glendale campus, with flexibility to go to Phoenix as needed
- Provide coverage at both Phoenix and Mesa campuses as needed
Requirements
- Ability to teach and delegate responsibility to students
- Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, multi-task environment
- Excellent organizational and record keeping skills
- Ability to synergize with field and corporate staff to implement the educational program
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and demonstrate problem solving skills
- Strong interpersonal relationship skills
- Effective verbal and written communication with students, parents, co-workers, and business contacts
- Working knowledge of Google Suite and database management
- BA/BS Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Some teaching or tutoring experience preferred
- Arizona Substitute, PreK-12 preferred
- Ability to travel between Phoenix and Mesa campuses as needed for applicable coverage
- Availability to work as needed, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM, Monday-Thursday
