Job summary

The Adel DeSoto Minburn Community School District is seeking certified substitutes for the 2026-27 school year across five school sites, including Adel Elementary, Meadow View Elementary, DeSoto Intermediate, Middle School, and High School.

Substitutes will deliver the prescribed curriculum, foster a safe learning environment for individualized and small group instruction, and report to the assigned building principal or designee at the location.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or 60 college hours required with official transcript.
• Must hold a current Iowa teaching/substitute license or substitute authorization.
• License information available at the Iowa BOEE website.

• Adel Elementary (Preschool - 1st Grade)
• Meadow View Elementary (2nd - 4th Grade)
• DeSoto Intermediate (5th - 6th Grade)
• Middle School (7th - 8th Grade)
• High School (9th - 12th Grade)

Essential Functions

• Delivers elementary school curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives

• This position reports to the building principal or designee at the location to which they are assigned

Requirements

• Associates degree or 60 semester hours through a college or university (must provide official transcript)
• Current Iowa License (teaching license, substitute license, or substitute authorization license)
