Job summary

Substitute Intensive Needs Aide I is needed by Mikelnguut Elitnaurviat in Bethel, Alaska to support intensive needs students under IEP guidance. This role is part-time and requires flexibility to adapt to classroom needs.

The ideal candidate will be bilingual (Yup’ik and English), possess a high school diploma or GED, and be able to work with minimal supervision while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in a rural Alaskan setting.

Qualifications

• Diploma or GED required.
• Bilingual in Yup’ik and English preferred.
• Experience with students with special needs in a school setting preferred.
• Ability to carry out instructional activities with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to participate in future training programs.

Responsibilities

• Works with a specific student to present and reinforce lessons.
• Sets up and operates equipment required by students.
• Assists with non-instructional duties (snack, restroom, clothing).
• Supervises students during lunch, assemblies, play, and field trips.
• Alerts the teacher to any problems or special information about students.
• Maintains confidentiality and ethical behavior toward students and staff.

Skills
