JOB TITLE: Substitute School Nurse (RN)
REPORTS TO: Building Principal or District Registered Nurse
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Substitute School Nurses are on an on-call/substitute bases, the position is responsible for administering to the individual health needs of students; implementing health care plans for students with special health needs; and following the assigned school’s health services program based on requirements established by school policies, procedures and protocols, and by local, state and national regulations and statutes.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Position includes frequent contact with students, staff, and parents. Must be able to work effectively with and respond to people from diverse cultures or backgrounds. Required to confer regularly with immediate supervisor and follow District policies, and work procedures. Maintain the integrity of confidential information related to students, staff, or District patrons.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Requires standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, simple grasping, pushing pulling, fine motor and gross motor skills, bending, lifting, squatting, kneeling, climbing, and reaching. Ability to lift students as required and has the stamina to stand all day, every day of the week as needed.
