Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid WA RN or LPN licensure and, if applicable, nursing education/training in school health.
• Valid WA driver’s license; reliable transportation.
• Experience as a school nurse or completion of related training.
• Proficiency with Macintosh computers and related tech tools.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to make sound, responsible decisions with discretion.
• Ability to maintain confidential information and professional boundaries.
• Interest in health education and student well-being.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver student health care services per standards and laws.
• Identify health issues, develop individualized and emergency care plans with staff training.
• Delegate tasks and supervise non-nurse staff in nursing procedures and medication administration.
• Interpret medical records to support educational placement and services.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings for students with health needs.
• Maintain accurate health care records and assist with health data collection.
• Coordinate and oversee health screenings with referrals and follow-up.
• Ensure immunization compliance and safety protocols are followed.
• Provide on-site emergency health services as needed.
• Support referrals for medical services through the School-Based Administrative Match program.
