Job summary

The Archdiocese of St. Louis is seeking a Substitute School Nurse to support Assumption Catholic School by prioritizing students’ health and safety within a faith-based setting.

The substitute fills in when the full-time nurse is unavailable, manages health needs, maintains records, administers medications, and responds to emergencies while upholding state and diocesan health requirements.

Qualifications

• First aid and nursing care provided to students and staff.
• Assess illnesses and injuries to determine interventions.
• Coordinate care with families and healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

• Provide first aid and nursing care to students and staff as needed.
• Assess student illnesses and injuries and determine appropriate interventions.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and school policies.
• Monitor students with chronic health conditions such as asthma, diabetes, severe allergies, seizure disorders, and other medical concerns.
• Develop and maintain individualized healthcare plans as needed.
• Coordinate care with parents, healthcare providers, and school personnel.
