The Archdiocese of St. Louis is seeking a School Nurse (RN) to promote the health and safety of students within its Catholic Education and Formation system. The role focuses on medical care, chronic condition management, and health education to foster a healthy school environment.

Candidates should hold a Missouri RN license with CPR/AED and First Aid, have pediatric or school health experience, and be committed to the Archdiocese's mission and Catholic values.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Administer first aid, medication, and emergency care per protocol.
  • Manage chronic conditions for individual students.
  • Communicate with parents regarding health concerns and follow-up care.
  • Support students with medical needs in the classroom with teachers and staff.
  • Coordinate with outside healthcare providers and local health departments as needed.
  • Follow school safety and emergency procedures accurately.

Job Summary

To promote the physical and emotional well-being of students by providing medical care, managing chronic conditions, and supporting a healthy school environment through health education, early intervention, and communication with families and staff.

Job Responsibilities

Student Health Services

  • Administer first aid, medication, and emergency care per protocol
  • Manage chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, allergies) for individual students
  • Communicate with parents regarding health concerns and follow-up care
  • Work with teachers and staff to support students with medical needs in the classroom
  • Coordinate with outside healthcare providers and local health departments when necessary
  • Follow school safety and emergency procedures accurately.
Job Requirements
  • CurrentRegistered Nurse (RN)license in Missouri
  • CPR/AED and First Aid Certification
  • Experience in pediatric, school, or community health setting preferred
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently, make sound judgments, and stay calm under pressure
  • Knowledge of school health regulations and public health practices
  • Comfortable using digital tools for documentation and communication
  • Commitment to Catholic values and willingness to support the school’s mission
